Research Books

Students used library time to pick a book to use for their insect research. They enjoyed writing facts on sticky notes. There was lots of excitement and sharing of fun facts!

We had so much fun today using our bug  research to create a story! We read "Diary of a Worm" and "Diary of a Spider". These stories were creative but also full of facts. Our stories will include many of the facts from our research but also be creative as diary entries in a day in the life of our bug.

Quest Theatre

Wednesday, we had a performance by Quest Theatre "As long as the Sun Shines" We learned about the different group of  First Nations people from around Calgary and even a song to help us learn and remember. Students were very engaged learning about  the history of Canada and  the effects of settlers coming  to Canada on the land and the First Nations people. Many students asked very thoughtful questions. We ended with all the kindergarten to grade 3's  holding hands in 3 large circles and  participating in a friendship dance.
