A Day at the Glenbow:
What a day! We learned so much and were busy all day. It was wonderful. Now students have some great connections to real artifacts when we talk about Inuit in the classroom. This trip couldn't have happened without our amazing volunteers!

Today, we had 2 nursing students come in to present to us about healthy eating.  We learned about the food groups and how to keep our  bodies healthy and energized. This presentation tied in great to the Healthy Food Challenge happening at our school. Students earning points for having healthy food from the food groups for their snack and lunch! The class the with the most points will earn a prize! Ask your child to help pack their lunches with  healthy foods that they learned about today!

Science Fall Class Art

Here are some really fun art projects we have done as a class this week. The first is a fall tree, in which every student choose a colour and put their thumb print to represent  fall leaves.  The second is a collage of leaves students have collected. Each student got to choose a leaf they found most interesting and put it in our collage. We look forward to creating more class art pieces for all the  seasons!

Welcome Back to School!

We are looking forward to the start of a new school year. School begins at 9:10 am on Tuesday, September 4. Ms. McCullough and Mrs. Taylor will be outside Door 1 to meet the children. The schoolyard is supervised 15 minutes before the bell. What to Bring - backpack that can easily fit a picture book and their lunch kit - lunch kit with a healthy lunch and a few snacks - indoor running shoes - water bottle - if applicable, any medication that they require along with completed forms. https://www.cbe.ab.ca/FormsManuals/Student-Health-Plan.pdf Many parents find it helpful to label their child's personal belongings to help get them back if they get lost. School Day The school day includes a lunch and afternoon recess. Grade 1 students are often excited to have 2 recesses!
