Getting Ready For Ozobots!


This afternoon everyone worked hard to build neighbourhood places such as shopping malls, parks, cinemas and schools. 

 Tomorrow our buddies will show us how to get little Ozobots to travel from one place to  another. 

 Next week, students will work with Ms. Hoogers to place all their buildings together to make a city for the Ozobots to travel in.

 We will write about all the fun our Ozobots have in their little robot city!

Quest Theatre

Wednesday, we had a performance by Quest Theatre "As long as the Sun Shines" We learned about the different group of  First Nations people from around Calgary and even a song to help us learn and remember. Students were very engaged learning about  the history of Canada and  the effects of settlers coming  to Canada on the land and the First Nations people. Many students asked very thoughtful questions. We ended with all the kindergarten to grade 3's  holding hands in 3 large circles and  participating in a friendship dance.

Bug Story

We had so much fun today using our bug  research to create a story! We read "Diary of a Worm" and "Diary of a Spider". These stories were creative but also full of facts. Our stories will include many of the facts from our research but also be creative as diary entries in a day in the life of our bug.

Update on our Caterpillars

Our caterpillars are now in a chrysalis. It's been amazing to watch! We've been learning so much! Our butterflies should emerge Friday or over the weekend.  Students have been putting some fruit in their enclosure to feed the butterflies when they emerge. We are all very excited for the metamorphosis!
