Fall / Autumn Acrostic Poems

Today, we learned about acrostic poems and
wrote our very own poems about the season fall/autumn
 as a class!

Here they are:

Falling leaves
A harvest comes
Leaves turning yellow, red and orange
Lots of pumpkins becoming jack-o-laterns

Amazing colours
United together by the fireplace
Thanksgiving with family
Until summer we are drinking hot chocolate
Months getting colder
Nice holidays

Oobleck and Slime - Liquid or Solid???

Today was such exciting afternoon! After a previous discussion on the characteristics of  solids, liquids and gases, some students were wanting to know if slime would be a solid  or a liquid. We decided we wanted to explore this further. One student was so helpful in bringing in 3 containers of slime for us to explore! Thank you to this student! Ms. McCullough decided to add in Oobleck to the experiment as well. We described both the solid and liquid characteristics of slime and oobleck then wrote a conclusion on whether it should be classified as a solid, liquid or both and explain why. Students are coming home with a labelling of caterpillars and butterfly body parts.  Students should be able to explain how the body parts help in their lives. They are also bringing hone some sheets we did while experimenting  In our “Exploring Liquids” student.
