Young Rembrandts

Today, we had the wonderful experience of
having the Young Rembrandts in
to do a drawing lesson with us!
They taught us step by step instructions on how to draw a 
cat using shapes.  They gave us
suggestions on how we could make our cats 
unique or with a fun cartoon background.
The students did amazing and all seemed to really enjoy this experience!   
Thank you to Mrs. Taylor for organizing having these
amazing artists in today!

Quest Theatre

Wednesday, we had a performance by Quest Theatre "As long as the Sun Shines" We learned about the different group of  First Nations people from around Calgary and even a song to help us learn and remember. Students were very engaged learning about  the history of Canada and  the effects of settlers coming  to Canada on the land and the First Nations people. Many students asked very thoughtful questions. We ended with all the kindergarten to grade 3's  holding hands in 3 large circles and  participating in a friendship dance.

Bug Story

We had so much fun today using our bug  research to create a story! We read "Diary of a Worm" and "Diary of a Spider". These stories were creative but also full of facts. Our stories will include many of the facts from our research but also be creative as diary entries in a day in the life of our bug.

Welcome Back to School!

We are looking forward to the start of a new school year. School begins at 9:10 am on Tuesday, September 4. Ms. McCullough and Mrs. Taylor will be outside Door 1 to meet the children. The schoolyard is supervised 15 minutes before the bell. School Day The school day includes a lunch and afternoon recess. Grade 1 students are often excited to have 2 recesses!
